Developmental Psychology Lab. Hokkaido University

The Developmental Psychology Lab (DPL) in the Graduate School of Education, is a premier education research facility at Hokkaido University, Japan.

About US

We explore the developmental process and related problems in the period of puberty and adolescence.

Our research team, led by Hiromichi KATO, Ph.D, has a wide range of research interests revolving around human development and its related problems in the period of puberty and adolescence.

Our team explores human development by examining these problems in depth. We do not view problems as a failure in development, but instead as outcomes of development. Therefore, we focus on the period of puberty, in which most of these developmental problems are likely to emerge.

The goal of our team is to portray a new image of pubertal development from the perspective of investigating developmental problems. We want to encourage students to join us in this research area.

Foreign students are more than welcome to join us. If you are interested to be part of our research team, please feel free to contact me by email.
